I think the best exit interview Kimberly has done so far has been with Michael Fairman, which can be viewed here. It was interesting to see Kimberly speak about the HIV needle story with Lisa Niles. And don’t forget, just because Robin died on last Tuesday’s show, doesn’t mean Kimberly’s had her final airdate. She will air through March. We will let you know when we get an official airdate. Great news Kimberly fans! We’ve recently learned that Kimberly submitted herself for this year’s Emmys. Although the event will not be televised, we look forward to following the latest Emmy news and are hoping for Kimberly’s first nomination since her return in 2005. It is a long time coming and well overdue! In other news, Kimberly will be attending the Gagoo Jammies Launch Party on March 16, 2012, which is being hosted by Vanessa Marcil. Tickets go on sale this Tuesday, February 14th. The event is to benefit Nkosi’s Haven Living with HIV/AIDS and Sojourn Services for Battered Women and Their Children. Tickets are $300 per person with the event kicking off at 6:30 at a gorgeous Malibu estate. At this time, confirmed guests are: Vanessa Marcil-Giovinazzo, Carmine Giovinazzo, Jillian Michaels, Suzanne Whang, Jennifer Hutt, Kimberly McCullough, Maurice Benard, Kelly Sullivan, and Lisa LoCicero. The rumors are true. After playing Robin Scorpio on and off for 26 years, Kimberly McCullough is leaving General Hospital for greener pastures. Soap Opera Digest broke the news last night.

“It’s true: GH’s Kimberly McCullough (Robin) is exiting Port Charles, but will air into the early months of 2012. “Kimberly McCullough has decided to pursue her dream of directing full-time, so she has decided to leave GENERAL HOSPITAL as storyline dictates,” says a show spokesperson. “Expect a poignant and must watch storyline for Robin and Patrick.” This announcement comes hot on the heels of the news that Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) has also opted out.”

We at the Kimberly McCullough Connection are very supportive of Kimberly’s blossoming career as a director and are thrilled to hear she is pursuing this passion full-time. This site will continue to be updated even after Kimberly’s departure from GH in early 2012. We will miss seeing Robin Scorpio a few times a week. But that’s what our clip archive is for! So we can all relive Robin’s best & worst times whenever we’d like. That said, GH needs to deliver an amazing exit storyline. And SOAPnet, get working on our Goodbye Robin marathon STAT!

Thank you for your tweets. I have read ALL of them. I wish I had words for the type of gratitude I feel for all of your support for so many years. Personally, I feel like it’s the right time for me to pursue my dream of directing episodic TV as well as writing and directing feature films. I am heartbroken as well. To leave Robin, a character that is a huge part of myself and my life. GH is my family and you (the fans) are like my extended family. I hope you will come with my along the journey… I’ve enjoyed getting to know so many of you. If if wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to make NGFL, a film that ultimately gave me the courage to leave the nest and step behind the camera. In the coming months @Jason_CT and I will pour our heart and soul into the story that is given to us. I can promise you that much. Everything else is out of our control. I am sad too, but I intend to make the best of it. Again, thanks for the love and opinions and support. I appreciate it more than I can ever express. Stay tuned…
